Bangladesh won the first One-dayer by seven wickets after restricting New Zealand to just 201 for nine last week in Dhaka.
But the hosts lost the second match on Saturday by 75 runs, mostly due to a slow run rate chasing New Zealand’s 212-9.
“We have to do well in all departments, particularly in batting,” Ashraful said after Monday’s practice session in Chittagong.
Bangladesh may play uncapped batsman Imrul Kayes in place of Mahmudullah Riad, while medium-pacer Mahbubul Alam may get his international debut, replacing Shahadat Hossain.
New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Brendon McCullum said his side also expected to get more runs out of the wicket and was more confident after taking time to adjust.

Bangladesh beat New Zealand for the first time with a seven-wicket victory Thursday in the opening one-day international.
Opener Junaid Siddique scored 85 – including eight boundaries – to lead Bangladesh to 202-3 in reply to New Zealand’s 201-9. Bangladesh paceman Mashrafee bin Murtaza and left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak shared seven wickets. Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashraful also struck an unbeaten 60 off 56 balls with five fours and one six.
It was Bangladesh’s first win in 12 one-day matches against New Zealand. Siddique shared a 109-third wicket partnership with Ashraful before being caught by Jacob Oram off Mark Gillespie with his team needing only eight runs.

New Zealand are aiming for a clean sweep against Bangladesh when their three-match One-day series starts on Thursday, but captain Daniel Vettori admits his team still need to play their best to win.
If the Black Caps blank their opponents, they would regain the number two spot in the ICC (International Cricket Council) One-day rankings that they briefly held in January 2005.

Regaining the second place spot would mean jumping from their current fourth position and displacing South Africa.
“Obviously winning the One-day series 3-0 would make us number two in the world and that would be very special but we are not going to underestimate Bangladesh who are formidable in their own country,” said Vettori.
